As the certainty of old empire crumbles, a desperate tide of jingoism and patriotic mythology rises. Meanwhile, within their gated mansions, the corrupt beneficiaries of a rigged system take to their Panic Rooms, fearing the rising of lions beyond.

This track recorded with the help of the Pleasant Val Rhythm section-Sned & Monkey former guitarist & drummer from Pleasant Valley Children

See, the psychopaths are centre-stage now
-Enjoyably corrupted and corrupting heroes of page and screen
Christ almighty - what we could have been!
What we should have been!

Now do what thou wilt shall be the WHOLE of the law
providing the doers aint the downtrodden or the necessary poor


Debt-laden zero hours zombies are not moved let alone appalled
when homeless people are cautioned for accepting gifts of food
neither are they even slightly moved

By the destruction of their healthcare
or the theft of their grandchildren’s welfare.
And unlike the inhabitants of the slums and shanty towns
The apathetic introspective sons and daughters of the post-war consensus
Are happy – more than happy - to sell the future for a grim-faced present
Even as their mean and selfish days wind down
The set mouth and ever-present frown rarely breaks into a smile these days.
For the oft-encouraged rampant service to self can only leave the naval-gazing garden-dweller
Empty and
Unfulfilled

And resentful of a population as self-serving as their own good selves.
